Your furry friend should be regularly taking a parasite preventive medication all year round.

What types of parasite control are available?

Depending on your pet’s risk factors for parasite infections such as the area you live in or how often they interact with other pets, we’ll recommend a parasite control plan that’s unique to their needs. Preventives come in a variety of formulations, including topical creams, oral medication and injections. More than one type can be combined to provide broad spectrum protection against internal and external parasites. Common internal parasites that infect pets include heartworms, tapeworms, hookworms, whipworms and roundworms. External parasites include ticks, fleas and ear mites.

How often should my pet take their medication?

It’s important to give your pet their medication as directed. Missing the window they should take it in, even by a few days, could make them vulnerable to an infection.
